Aluminum front bumper

A couple of years ago I came across a company that made stamped aluminum front bumper/nose piece to replace the urethane factory one.My computer crashed and I lost the web site.Has anyone else heard of this or came across the website?

Re: Aluminum front bumper

I think you may have been mistaken, I'm pretty sure no such thing has been made for production cars. Wouldn't make much sense. Very easy to damage and expensive to make.

Re: Aluminum front bumper

Thought the whole idea with the soft rubber bumper was to reduce cost of repair at slow accidents at city speeds.

btw a interesting crash test with a 89 firebird

I'm thinking you may have saw the impact bumper used on 82-4 birds.

That was what I thought of when I first read this, but he seemed rather certain it was a bumper/nose piece.

Does that 82-84 piece fit the later cars?
