Re: Wanting a new hatch

'Notchback' hatches are obtainable, at times, but very rare. occasionally, you'll see one on e bay. they are usually pricey. beware of aftermarket hatches, because they don't look, fit or mount exactly the same as factory Pontiac did. the hardest part about mounting the hatch is finding new or good support struts. they just are not out there. the hatch itself, mounts the same way the standard hatch doe's. I know of a man who did deal in and sell notchback lids and parts. I don't know whether or not he still doe's, but you can try. he's located in Phoeniz, AZ. his name is Mike. his number is (602)-276-1522. good luck

Re: Wanting a new hatch

Notchback lids are an oddity. I think they look weird on camaros, and you cant use the factory camaro spoiler. I have a factory notch car. Struts are easy if you get creative and don't care about originality.

My notchback didnt come with struts or the mounting hardware. The PO would just let it slam down. Anyway, go get some shoulder bolts ( I don't remember the thread pitch) from Ace/ Lowes / Home Depot etc. and use standard firebird struts mounted upside down. Works like a dream.
