Light bar mounting
Hey everyone,
Recently had to switch my dash emergency lights to full on mini bar on top of the car magnetically.

The problem I am having is where it sticks. The magnets catch good. but the hang off and look a little silly on tops/hatch. I can open the hatch, goes right under it. I know this car was built to be agile, bu my some fabricating minds may help here?
The bar is 18X12X3. And I am putting it on the one cross between the trunk and t tops.
I will look for a way to maybe adjust the bracket, but for now!
Thanks everyone. Just looking for some advice! I will take better pictures when i get back out
EDIT: Also, the bar does stick on. I drove in 75mph hwy with wind and it didn't budge. Looking for more aesthetics.

Re: Light bar mounting
Looks like a bracket mod will be in order.
If you remove the bracket from the light, and take the feet off the bracket, would the studs on the feet (on the right) fit in the holes for the bracket (on the left)? This would eliminate the brackets, bring the feet closer together to keep them on the roof, and get it lower to the roof.

Why is on the T Top and not back farther on the roof?wouldn't it stick better on flat solid foundation.

That's all the space there is and I don't want it interfering with lifting my trunk so its further on the ttop. It also helps with the force of the wind

Aren't you a Fireman or Emergency Response member?I think I read that in a previous post. The only thing I can think of(if you have to use that one) is place it on the T Top roof and use a metal plate for the magnet

Re: Light bar mounting
Let me do that again, place two additional magnets under the feet of the light on the other side of the glass

Yeah I'm a firefighter and EMT for the city.
And that's a good idea. I will see about that with using magnets or metal under the glass!

And I'd rather have a light bar on top than trying to figure out how to place 5 different lights inside my car and messing up the interior.

Re: Light bar mounting
That doesn't mean they have to be on the roof. Front and rear deck lights would be fine.
I do question if your light bar is legal, based on:
"(2) display four alternately flashing red lights, two located on the front at the same level and two located on the rear at the same level; and
(3) emit a light visible at a distance of 500 feet in normal sunlight."
I guess if your light bar flashes left/right alternating red on the front and on the rear one could argue that it is four lights.
If you were a volunteer firefighter or police officer you would be able to use corner strobes as :
(d) A private vehicle operated by a volunteer firefighter responding to a fire alarm or a medical emergency may, but is not required to, be equipped with signal lamps that comply with the requirements of Subsection (c).
(f) A police vehicle may, but is not required to, be equipped with signal lamps that comply with Subsection (c).
But I think you said you are EMS, so that exception doesn't apply to you.
