Wondering what this object is in my engine bay??

Hey all, I didn't really know what to search or where to look so I'm going to ask the question myself....
Does anyone know what this balloon like object is for that is circled in red in this picture? Just dropped my LQ4 in a couple of days ago and I have completely deleted heating and cooling including the A/C ducting... Is this ok to remove or is this a necessity? Car doesn't have air bags or cruise control. Thanks in advance for any responses and I'm sorry for posting without searching...

Is this object a necessity for my cammed LS swap? Only reason I would probly need it is for brake booster correct?

So since I do not have cruise control, it is safe to remove?

as well as the HVAC ...

While it shares some common plumbing with the cruise control , it's actual function is to keep a source of vacuum to both the cruise control and the heat/ac so that during times of low vacuum (wide open throttle) the HVAC doesn't default to "defrost only" . Our HVAC was designed so that any vacuum failure will cause a default to defrost to prevent a crash due to a fogged windshield . Since the original poster has deleted his entire HVAC system as well as the cruise control , the vacuum storage ball is no longer needed .

Sometimes jokingly referred to as "The Orb of power"
