I hope you buy it back from the insurance company and get her back on the road! That sucks!!
When I ran onto a small rock slide on a pleasure drive on a local mountain road back in 2010, Geico totaled by GTA, cut me a check for over $9,500 and I bought her back for only a few hundred. Car never even left my garage because I had it towed there and the adjuster later made a house call.
Having her towed home tomorrow. If frame is not bent what do you guys recommend. Ordering new parts or buying a doner car for front end Or swap my engine in a good shell.
We will getting a check from her insurance just don't know value yet
Man, that sucks. If nothing is beat up too bad then I'd just swap in a new fender, hood, and nose. How did the air cleaner end up over the headlight though? was the nut not on it??

Took it off to adjust my choke dropped bolt and was not able to locate it. before it was time to go to work. Figured I work 10 mins away... what could possibly happen in that ten minutes.... u guys just saw what happens
If your going from a salvage to reconstructed title make sure you read the entire process before doing anything.
In my state, a car has to go through a special inspection. You typically need the buyback letter and all parts receipts. photo's of before and after are usually good.
It depends on where you live though, and it can't be just any inspection place. good luck
i feel your pain man, im just now finishing the body work from getting run into last year, its hell repairing accident damage. id definitely repair that thing though, the damage looks mild enough to be worth it. good luck bro
Insurance company totaled it out, and tried to massively low ball me. Luckly I am a master of seeing threw bull crap and throwing it back. Which more then doubled there offer.
So I bought it back... my frame looks bent so I am looking for a shell to swap everything over to.
Ha! wow. Glad you were able to get a decent price. 600 is a joke.
That's why a lot of us are going to Grundy or Haggerty for insurance. Unless you can find a company that will do an "Agreed" value on the car then they just stick it to you based on KBB.
That car is beautiful. I actually came across it, on line. If it was closer I so jump on it lol. not sure if I could find someone to tow it that far
quick question also. If I buy a car that has fuel injected I have to remove the fuel pump in the tank right?
No, are you planning on going carb? Just get a mallory 4309 regulator and pull the pressure down. That's how i have mine set up and I'm still running my CC Qjet. I installed an in-tank pump when the 355 I put in my car wasn't drilled for a mechanical pump. The cost for the machine work was the same as buying a pump so I just went with the pump. 7 years now and zero issues.
I bought the car a few weeks ago... already have interior almost completely swapped. This week a friend's coming over and we are working on next phase.

Re: my sad day
When you have a nice car you have to pay attention to what the other drivers are doing. Make sure they stop at intersections. If they run off the edge of the road, be prepared for them to overcorrect and come into your lane...
OK so my build is coming together faster and smoother then I planned on it.... so I have all kinds of extras between the 2 cars so if you need or want anything let me know
