Outside of window getting scratched by these. Where do I find them?
Outside of window getting scratched by these. Where do I find them?
Hi my 84 Z28 has 3 or 4 of these rubber guides or something along the outside of the window. Does anyone know what they are called, where to get them, or how to fix it? Mods please move if I'm in the wrong forum.

It's the rubber/plastic pieces circled on the outside of the window. I have the felt window guides on the inside of the window. I'll try to get a better pic when I get a chance

Edit: it's probably the window guides you already posted. I was thinking you posted the ones for the inside.
While we are on the subject, does anyone know where to get the triangle filler pieces and what they are actually called?

Don't count out the inner guides (#18 in diagram) if you haven't pulled them for inspection. They tend to wear unevenly and are the most common cause because the windows weight and also adjustment causes a good amount of pressure on them. Another way to tell is if the edges of the inner pads match up with the scratches of the window.

Unless the door panel is off, or even then I tape a piece of thin string to the tiny wrench I use for that and a loop on the other end that will slip onto my wrist. There is not a lot of room to work so its very easy to drop/slip from your fingers and down it go's.
That's unless you don't mind removing the panel to retrieve it or hunting for it even with the panel off.
A lot of guys don't even have a wrench that small so dropping one down inside the door sucks.
A temporary fix is thin adhesive felt pads.
