Aftermarket Carpet suggestions...

Well i've saved up a decent amount of money for my car and im getting it painted, lowered, new shocks, struts, sub frame connectors and LCA's installed, but i also need new carpet for my car. I would like to get the carpet as soon as possible, becuase my interior panels are getting painted as well. When i get my car back i'd like to install the new carpet, and interior panels at the same time. Ive heard www.1aauto.com makes good carpet, but when it comes to ordering it im a little confused. I dont want/need the back hatch carpet area, just the section from the rear seats up. Would that be the "passenger" carpet section? Are there any other companies out there that sell good premolded carpet? I cant really afford to wait for an ebay auction unfortunately. Thanks

Yes, the passenger area carpet is what you want. It covers the passenger interior area. What your looking at is probably the best deal. I ordered a sample and it was great. Considering it's not the original it matches color perfectly and looks exactly the same and looks just as thick. It doesn't feel as heavy though. It's it however a lot thicker then the nifty products P.O.S. replacement and you get your choice from GM color matches, not nifty own versions of black, grey, or red. Don't get that because you'll never be happy with it. Carpets don't vary that much in price and this is the best so go with that.

I replaced the carpet in my Camaro with OEM stuff from Classic Industries. It's two pieces for the whole car:
1st piece is for everything from the firewall to behind the fold down seat.
2nd piece (the trunk piece) and this goes from behind the fold down seat to the back of the trunk.

About $100 per piece. I've very pleased with mine (perfect color match and they were willing to send samples)....

Classic Industries, and just about every other reputable parts supplier sells carpets manufactured by Auto Custom Carpets, or ACC. You can buy direct from them but it'll cost a little more. Its an exact replica of the original, but it doesn't have the jute backing. The backing is available from most of the thirdgen parts dealers.
