Found these wires disconnected on my 1987 formula 5.0. They are hanging on the bottom of the car beside the tranny. (700R4) anyway the connector has red/ black wires and the others are tan/black purple and light blue. The other end of the connector hooks into the transmission near the driveshaft (maybe speedo since it doesent work) the others head toward the engine bay? Anyone have a clue?
Somebody please chime in here, I'm wondering if his purple wire is the same as what I have coming out my firewall behind the brake booster wire harness...There has to be someone that has done a motorswap that knows what these wires are...
Sith, It very well may be the VSS connector, not 100% on it though.Hard to say on the other three. Can you tell where they end on?
Thorn, yours could be the starter solenoid.Looks like someone just used a jumper to connect them.Remove the jumper & see if it wont crank. If so, could be somebody used it a crude starter disable.
Starter relay you say??? Now you have me wondering, I disconnected it while running and made no difference. I will have to check and see if the battery has enough juice to try and turn it over with it unplugged(waiting to replace in the spring).
How would the VSS effect his car if it was disconnected??
