Impact Bar Bracket Underneath
On the bottom of my impact bar there are two square plastic brackets that are bolted to the bottom of the impact bar (83 Z28). They are a curious shape with short fangs. Held on with one 13mm bolt
You can see them (one of them anyway) at 5:41 of this video
He points to it and wonders why it is there too...
At 5:50-6:32 He struggles with it and then successfully removes it.
Any idea what they are for? The looks like the might have been for a fog-light option that never materialized on 82-84 cars... Though I have seen these on 85-92 cars too.

My 86 has them also,I don't know what their for either and they are not listed in the parts book.I'm wondering if they were used for moving the car on the assembly line

They are supports for front bumper fascia.
On firebirds there are shorter ones for firebirds, longer ones for Trans am
