1984 camaro z28 ECM removal

I have recently put in a new engine, 305 same transmission, I removed all smog has hedman headers, Holley manifold and carb, and vacuum advance distributor already. I want to rewire the car to just have starter, ignition, alternator, and battery cables. Can anyone help me out on if I can remove ECM and rewire it and where I might find a diagram on how to rewire it

You don't need to re-wire anything.

Unplug the ECM harness at the ECM.

Pull the harness ECM harness thru the hole behind the pass kick panel and into the engine bay.

Un-plug each ECM harness connector from every connection under the hood.

Place the ECM and harness into a box.

Done.

The things that you mention ( Alt, Distrib, Starter,....... ) are all wired thru the 84' ENGINE wiring harness so removing the ECM / harness will not effect any of that.

Be advised.... by removing the ECM you are also removing the TCC lock-up. I'd suggest installing an aftermarket TCC lock-up switch or fabricating your own TCC lock-up. ( SEARCH the forums for more info on TCC lock-up. )

Re: 1984 camaro z28 ECM removal

Why bother removing it at all? Its under the dash and takes up no space, if you are running aftermarket igniton and fuel systems it doesnt interfere but does provide benefit through the torque converter lock up and other sensors such as the low coolant level and over temp light. The wiring is not an issue if you are proficient at figuring out what does what.
