door striker nut repair

has anyone repaired/replaced one?

whoever replaced my quarter panel welded the nut on the back and i have no adjustment of the striker. im wondering if i should just cut that area around the striker out and weld in a new section. or if i should cut out the whole door jamb ??

Re: door striker nut repair

Are you serious? Damn. The door striker bolt SHOULD be contained in a sheet metal pocket and has a bit of adjustment available if you enlarge the hole it threads through. You are screwed if the PO welded it. Sorry for your pain.
