When I got mine painted the guy said not to get an aftermarket front spoiler or a new nose.. said he can heat them and brace them and they naturally go back to the original shape.. I was skeptical, but my front end looks better than any third gen I’ve owned..

Were you able to save your bumper cover/spoiler?

That yellow looks really rich.. I like it..

No, I used the front bumper off that donor car I bought. I reused the spoiler though. The original one was just too far gone..This one was a bitch to get into place but it looks great.

Working on restoring the wheels now. LOTS of work there. About 5 hours per wheel. Will post pics when I get a couple finished.

Super happy with the first completed wheel. I really wanted to salvage the stock wheels and this will do..

Wheels look great. I wish they would make those wheels in a 17/18/19 x 9.5" or 10".

Some more photos. Interior turned out great too! Read a lot of hate on the ABS headliners but mine looks great and was easy to install.. Steering wheel, shifter ****, and Ebrake handle were done by Craft Customs with yellow baseball stitching and turned out great! Took her out for her first drive on Sunday and boy did I get a lot of double takes and people pointing. I love this car!

Re: Paint project has begun...

Car looks fantastic man!! Very nice work.

Im currently saving for a house (with a garage of course) and once I have the space, I plan to strip my 87 IROC and paint it. It will be my first time spraying a car but I feel I can do a good enough job. I sure aint gonna pay someone $5k or more to do it for me, especially since my kids can help with some of the prep work.

What sort of process did you follow for the black in the headlight buckets? My car was sprayed by the previous owner in a Ford metallic burgandy colour and the buckets were left body colour. I will be returning them to black when I paint it. I cant wait as Im not at all a fan of the colour, but I got a good deal on the car.

I roughed up the clear with 600 or 800 and after masking it all off I sprayed them with SEM trim black. I used the vinyl pin striping to go around the corners and curves as it is much more flexible than masking tape. Turned out great. Hoping it lasts as the car will be a garaged..
