Repainting Ground FX

I did a search and came up with 7 replies, and they didn't really answer my question. I am looking to repaint my car sometime. I know the front and rear bumper covers need the flex agent added to the paint. My question is, do the ground FX need this flex agent too? I know someone spray painted the ground FX and had good results, but if I am going to repaint the whole car with a normal air gun, do I need the flex agent added? I have also heard mixed emotions as to if the bumper covers need the agent if a urathane based paint is used. Do I need the flex stuff no matter what?

Thanks,

Thanks,
I just finished painting my GTA. I used PPG base/clear, the directions say no flex in the base. Flex in the top coat IF the bumpers are removed. What does that tell you? I've seen so many that has cracked BECAUSE somebody painted the car with no flex agent. 1 quart of flex is only $30.00. That's nothing when you're talking $700.00 in material for the rest of the car. I stripped the whole car, bumpers included.

The side gfx on a Camaro are a composite (plastic or fiberglass material) and wouldn't need flex agent. On an '85-'90 (and maybe '91-'92 too?) TransAm the lower pieces are urethane and would benefit from Flex agent. The door pieces on TAs are composite.

Thanks for the responses. I was debating on if I wanted to remove the bumper covers or not. If I can find a paint like what 85SportCoupe..stated, it would make things so much easier.

Thanks,
