Power Antenna
Power Antenna
i have an 84 Z28 with the standard antenna, i have also a power antenna from an iroc, not sure what year, but is it possible to just hook it up in my car?? any help would be appreciated

I believe a relay is also required. Check the audio board.

From 82-88 the parts & illustration guide sais there all the same. looking at the 89-92 90% of the parts seem to be the samy anyway.
I converted my formula over to a power Antenna, and here is what you need out of your donor car.
> the Power antenna & all the brackets (obviously)
> the cable from the radio to the Antenna ( they atach differently)
> A power wire from the radio to the antenna relay on the interior of your car. (pink I beleive) then there are the 3 wires that go from the relay to the Power antenna.
>You will also have to run a wire from your fuse block to the Relay.
When I did mine, I was in the middle of converting over to TPI. The donor car was wired for the power antenna, so that made my job so much easier since I just replaced dash wiring anyway. It was all there.
You might have to get creative. For the wire going to the relay it needs to be unswitched to the ignition. Otherwise when you turn your car off the antenna will stay up. Im thinking its the wire should be Orange, but it could be a yellow wire.
