I second the question... what's up with "Gee"M not figuring out how to keep a floorpan FLAT?! Wouldn't be 1/2 as annoying if my floormats didn't fold & curl since they aren't custom cut for the TransAm.

Try Classic Industries. In their catalog, they have some different mats listed, such as "Trans Am" "Camaro" and of course the screaming chicken.

Be careful who you buy from too, I had a friend swear he found a set of custom FBod floor mats with a custom made screaming chicken on em, paid like 90 bucks cause the guy said they were "Custom taylored"... turns out it was the quality of a door mat for your house.

Just stick with a reputable company and you will be fine. Good luck.

New mats

I just ordered a set of two front mats from a Chevy dealer here for my 91 Z28. They showed them available from GM on their computer, the parts guy was kind of surprised to find them on there. The cost $48, I hope they show up. I had gone to a big auto parts store here and they looked for about 30 minutes in books for custom cut floor mats (Primiere I think is the name of the company) and never came up with anything, so I went back the the chevy dealer and ordered theirs.

I just contacted a local Pontiac dealer about this subject. Her system showed NO replacement '91 Firebird mats available. Only some generics avail. Larry, keep us posted on your order. I'm curious if you get the correct OEM Camaro part.

GM Morons

Well the GM parts personell at my local Chevy dealer really are morons. I said I ordered a set of floor mats from them that were a "special order" and would fit my 91 Z28. Well I got them and the say Mr Goodwrench" floormats for "rear wheel drive chevrolets". Jeez, this is the same thing I could buy at pep boys except they say GM. Of course they dont come close to fitting. The parts guy was saying he didn't want to take them back because of it being a "special order", what a jerk. They are stapled together with a cardboard hanging deal just like the ones at the auto parts store. I may have to refuse paying by stopping payment on my American Express.

dude... that really bites, yea, parts can be like that sometimes, with the special orders especially not too many complaints over here though... my orders have gone okay so far minus one time they sent the wrong replacement part to the body shop... heh...

The SOB's at the chevy dealer are charging me 30% restocking fee for returning these mats. that about $15 I have to pay because they sold me mats that they said would fit in my 91 Z28 and they don't. I guess thats the price you pay to learn not to deal with these @$#%. I dont want to mention any names but it is WESTSIDE CHEVRLOLET IN KATY TEXAS ON THE KATY FREEWAY NEAR GRAND PARKWAY. Go there if you want to be ripped off.

I already ordered a set of "not one size fits all, custom fit for these cars" off off a website menioneed on this bbs. I think it is nextgenparts.com. they are about $75 for a set of four, with the Z28 emblem on the front mats. Sounds cool, I hope this one works out.

they gave me my money back

OK, I am taking back the bad mouthing of the chevy dealer I previously mentioned. I finally went down there all ready to raise hell about this and they just gave me all my money back without even saying anything. Maybe they say my post on here "Chevy dealer to avoid". I did notice that that post is now missing. I bought a set from nextgenparts.com for $75 plus shipping and they are great. They are custom fit, even the passenger side is shaped for the hump, they also say Z28, Im real happy with them.
