I should have everything except a hood. I'm out of town for a little while longer though. If you keep on the lookout, the parts you need are easy to find. That car of dagwood's is a good deal though, and not a bad trip. One easy day out and one easy day back.

Yep, I'm in north central iowa....the car is at my brothers farm by Hardy, IA

My hood is bent, though

86blackiroc is only 25mi from the vehicle? Aren't they in West Jeff Ohio? Columbus, OH to Hardy, IA is an 11hr drive but Columbus, OH to West Jeff, OH is only 25-30 min... but all in all if the hood is bent... I may need a pic to gauge the severity.

He is currently in Iowa and he's super close to the car. You need to talk him into hauling it back for ya lol

Stories like this are why I am glad all mine are insured with Grundy and agreed values. You might want to think about that if you are not driving your daily. Also, this was posted a while ago, it would get you some of your parts..

Glad to see another around Columbus. I went through my parts but don't have the extra parts you need. Good luck and if I can help, let me know.

I decided to SAVE The ThirdGen!!!

I've accepted their $2K Retention offer, they WOULDN'T budge citing the value of the vehicle is $2795 less the cost of the salvage title work (Although it had a salvage title when I acquired it). Payment has been rendered, so the journey to restoration will be tough, but begins now!

Glad to hear it. Hate to see them get stripped and crushed.

PM me if you need some help. I dont have a ton of spare time, but might have some small pieces you need or know a good source to get them.

this is an easy fix. Just swap parts. Should only take about 4 hours to unbolt old parts and remove and install new. You have no structural damage at all.

Re: Front End Damage - Total Loss?

Yep, I live in Ohio but my job has me traveling a lot. I often get all around Iowa. Today I'm in the Guthrie Center area and if weather holds out, I'll be over around Grinnel tomorrow, lol. If I had a trailer with me and knew when I'd be going home, I'd be taking dagwood up on his offer and picking it up, cuz if you didn't want it, I still would.

And I'm glad you are fixing the car! Is the title staying how it is, or will you have to get it inspected for a new title again? A 'salvage' title is different from a 'rebuilt salvage' title.
