Ground effect alignment

I have a 1985 Iroc-Z that I am mocking up and aligning panels before I get it ready for paint. I bought this car two years ago and was so excited to get the restoration process going that I started taking it apart without paying much attention to how the pieces fit together and looked before I removed them. I have the fenders aligned and fastened to the car and when I went to put the rocker panel ground effect on I noticed that it wasn’t quite long enough. It’s not flush with the fender or quarter. The ground effects are the stock effects I removed off of the car. Anyone else have this problem or is this just how they came from the factory??
