side glass

Anyone used the side glass from classic industry? I'm thinking of ordering at least the driver (my window has had a chip in the edge since I bought the car) When I redid the weather stripping I discovered it was chipped because it was hitting the screw that holds the outer strip on the top of the door. Now that I have that fixed... I want to replace debating on junkyard or aftermarket... if aftermarket will it have the same tint/color etc as the factory or should I replace both so they match 100%.

Also looking at their windshield as mine has little tiny chips etc in it from the 215k miles the car has done. I know I can just call safelite and they will pop a new windshield in but classic industry keeps running large sales.

Re: side glass

Normally the rubber stopper on the bottom of the window track keeps it from rolling down far enough to catch the screw. But since people like to sit there holding the switch down, eventually the rubber stopper crumbles and the glass can catch, and you get the chip. Earlier cars used Phillips screws instead of hex, so they usually aren't chipped.

I'd probably ask around, check Craigslist, Facebook, wherever for someone close by with a stash of parts or a parts car, but that's just me. I've got a pile of side glass propped up, and it just keeps growing. At some point I hope to actually put a window in a door instead of only removing them.
