Firebird Rear Hatch and Headlights
Both worked when I parked the car a few years ago. My battery has died and doesn't take a good charge. It charges enough to start the car but dies within a couple of days. Could this be why my hatch and lights are not working now? Thanks for the help.

it could be. it could be a lot of different things. one thing it is for sure is a pain in the ***. anything electrical is a pain in the *** when it doesn't werk. start with the fuses, follow the wiring from the termination point to the source of power, you should find the problem, but it's gonna be a pain in the ***.

If you're going to leave the car parked, invest in some kind of battery maintainer. https://www.batteryminders.com/1510-...-with-warranty

Headlights: Check that voltage is getting to the headlight control module in the engine bay (because it's super easy to access). Work the problem forward or backward from there.
Tail Lights: I'd check voltage at the Tail fuse first. Then pop the headlight switch out of the dash and check voltage at the terminals (might end up doing that anyway for the headlights). Work the problem forward or backwards from there. It's a pretty simple circuit. Tail fuse ---> light switch ---> wires to back of car ---> light bulbs.

Something I made for myself a little while ago when I was wondering how it worked.

And another diagram I made for myself when I was trying to figure out why my headlight doors won't go up but always go down. Just ignore the green notes I added, it's the circuits that are of interest to you.
