ground effects color

The tag on my 1985 Z28 shows U 8596 L 8596. I've read that L would be for ground effects color but I haven't seen a Z like mine with body color ground effects. The ones on my car are silver and I assume their are the factory ones. Any idea what's up with my paint codes? What would be the correct paint code to repaint them silver?
Thanks, Mike

There isn't a 12E or 12W on the tag. I just haven't seen a dark blue 85 Z28 with dark blue ground effects. The tag makes no sense to me.

Re: ground effects color

The Upper/Lower split is at the middle of the doors. The L doesn't have jack to do with the ground effects. The only two tone thirdgens were some early-mid 80's Firebirds.
