Whelp, now I know: Red headlight buckets

I don't remember what this mod/style choice is called... it's the thing where people paint the bumper in the headlight area black.

Well I have a white convert with red leather interior. I'm debating one day getting herritage edition stripes, but I also wondered... what if I painted the headlight area red?

Well now I know! And it ain't pretty. What do you guys think of this?

I don't like it at all. Keep them black.
The door IROC-Z decals in that picture also looks terrible. YUCK!

If only the interior were red too, it'd look like a Hotwheels, where the hood louvers and interior are molded in the same red plastic. On a real car, it looks hideous. The upside is it's easily corrected with a few cars of spray paint and patience. Clean, scuff, tape, trim paint, and it'd be little more than an unpleasant memory.

Re: Whelp, now I know: Red headlight buckets

The thing about black is that when it's used as an accent color, it goes with everything. It's like blue jeans. It highlights whatever it's paired with. Think through ALLLLL the various trims on all the various cars. 99% of the time it's black or body color. While there's no real "rule", it's definitely a "rule" of design, and you see what happens when it's broken!

I think the previous owner of that car was a member here. And if I remember correctly, I think the IROC-Z on the doors is PAINTED on.

I can't decide what I dislike most, the headlight thing or the door lettering.
