99-02 plastic gas tank foam pad replacement

Wasn't sure where to put this, different kind of question for the 4th gen tank. I have a couple of these tanks and they are missing some of the foam pads on the top that prevent it from squeaking?

Anyone KNOW what kind of foam it is? I know there are a variety of foams I can get from McMaster, but I am not sure how to spec what I need. I found this https://www.mcmaster.com/rubber/foam...ing~excellent/ but I am not sure what thickness to buy since I don't know how well it is going to compress.
Again, maybe someone knows what kind of foam is factory, or what would be a more suitable replacement than what I linked. I am in no hurry, I will probably just wait until McMasters will call opens again before I buy, but this is one thing preventing me from installing the tank in my current project.
Thanks in advance for any useful input

I'll probably get a lot of grief for this, but I used high density weather stripping. As you said, it is there as an isolator and the foam is made to withstand damp environments. Being on top of a plastic tank, it will not be subjected to much heat, if any at all. It appears to be identical to the peel and stick foam the factory used. You can get it at any hardware store.

I'm not worried about heat as it is on top of the tank, I am more worried about accumulation of water if it is open cell foam. I guess I can go take a look at what the hardware store has.

The factory stuff is kind of slippery, so I am thinking it is some kind of silicone foam

It's likely a closed cell foam. Is it strips like the thirdgen tank uses or something else?

There are 8 pads? like 3x3" squares at key locations

I'd probably check if you could add the strips to the rails on the body instead of the tank.
