where to buy a gas tank?

I have an 87 formula and was wondering who makes a good gas tank for our cars. I might be interested in buying a stock style gas tank with a sump in it if anyone knows where to find one. My gas tank neck leaks and the fuel sloshs really bad and it very annoying.

Theres extra modding with the fourth gen tanks, I was contemplating that awhile ago and it looked a bit too difficult. Cheapest place for a new tank is on eBay there is a company selling them on there for I believe around $250 shipped (dont quote me on that). Tanks are a little hard to find cause they puncture all the tanks for cars going into junk yards.

do the plastic 4th gen tanks have any kinda baffles or foam in them to keep the fuel from sloshing around in turns?

No it has a special "bucket" around the pump and something with the return line to make sure it doesnt get starved for fuel, it supposedly works very well and the tank itself has no baffling.

You'll also have to contend with the sending unit being completely wrong if you want to install one of the plastic tanks.

The filler neck is a little bit longer, just cut it, remove a small section and join it back with a rubber sleeve. Use the LT1 style sending unit and your fuel gauge will work fine.
