My 84 Z28 grille inserts, like most, became brittle and broke to pieces. Replacements are prohibitively expensive, and I've been looking for other options. Now, I know the 85-92 Z28's and Iroc-Z's had multiple options. I also know the fog light insert grilles sit back too far and won't fit the earlier 82-84 Z28 facias. My question is this, will the basic louvered grille fit? I wouldn't mind that look, as mine just has that flat area for a license plate. If not that, will those aftermarket billet grilles fit an earlier style Z28 front end? I'm just looking for an option that either fits or can be made to fit with mild modification. That way I don't have a flat license plate surface and two gaping holes with nothing there. It looks like something is missing and I'd like to nice it up a bit. Any information or suggestions are welcomed. Surely someone else with an 82, 83 or 84 Z28 has come up with a good solution to this.
