Tires anybody? (Also trunk motor question)
Hello once again! I return with more questions.
So, as many of you probably know the tires on the 1987 Pontiac Trans Am are 245/50r16. I learned that those are stupid specific the hard way. I was planning on buying awesome cooper radial tires but realized that they were 245/60r15 not the other way around. That's fine I can live without those, but what I really want is white lettering. Don't care the brand, just some sick white lettering would really make the car look like how I want. Anybody know any 245/50r16 tires with white lettering? I can't seem to find any.
Second question!
My car has the very common issue of having a shot trunk motor, except mine is a peculiar case. Mice had gotten between the motor and the back panel and made a nest using the lining between the two. Upon further inspection I realized they chewed some out one of the wires, as it's now hanging wide open and exposed. I'm glad I caught it because on the inside lining there was a very prominent charred black spot where sparks had been burning the inside. Could have been a serious fire hazard, so I'm keeping the lining and back panel off until I can fix the motor. Here's my question: I know you can buy replacement motors and gears but does anybody got a place I can buy replacement wires?! Even if I get a new motor system it won't do jack if the wires are cut, which they are in my case.
I've tried looking around but I'm fairly new to this and want to get it right because this is my first time tackling a pull down trunk latch.
Thanks!!

I'm not aware of anyone making a white letter tire in 245/50/16.

There's only a few tires made in the 245/50/16 size to begin with, as it's very unpopular these days. Only two brand name tires that I know of in that size (and both are BF Goodrich). I can guarantee none of them will have white letters. Nearly all of the passenger cars that you see these days with white letter tires larger than 15 inch have had the white letters added to them.

There are still several brands of 245/50/16 tires out there, but I agree that none will have white letters. You can always buy the aftermarket tire decal kits and stick 'em on that way. "most" of the modern muscle guys running white letters (or whatever color) are using stick on decals.
