Door removal
Hello, I am hoping someone can help me out. I need to swap doors on my 1989 IROC. What is the best way to pull them and what pitfalls do I need to avoid? Thanks in advance. From what I see it looks like I will have to remove the front fender to gain access to the bolts

Re: Door removal
I highly suggest a good jack that can accept a door:

I got this one form Eastwood a couple years ago, It was perfect to remove and also reinstall the door. I did it by myself off and on, on both sides. Made it very easy to align the doors too. It adapts to a standard car jack. I used one from Harbor Freight.
Yes removing the fender makes it easy to take off as well as align the replacement door.

Re: Door removal
True. but aligning it can be tricky. I found putting mine back on with the fenders off and that jack tool made it very easy for a 1 man show. I did it all myself and could not be happier with the results. Those doors are VERY HEAVY.

Totally agree with the jack! ....couldn't see doing it without some kind of jack. ...as for aligning....yeah....I agree. I used a second set of hands. By yourself, with the fender on, it'd be tricky.
