How do u remove a door?
just wondering how to remove a door and install one? i got to get a new driver side door and want to install it myself. i see 2 bolts holding in an upper bracket that look like they'd be easy to take off, but on the bottom is some kind of hinge with a rod going into it and cant see how that would come off?

ull have to remove your fender, which is 6 bolts on the top under the hood, and one down by the door/fender crease, pull it away and i will see 5 bols 2 o0n top 3 on bottem..i believe my be the other way around...but u get the idea
Open the door, back up really fast so that a pole or tree or something catches the door. BINGO! Door removal complete! Although, by using this method you just might not be able to reattach the door...
Seriously, though, what he said. :lala:

ok thanks. should be fairly easy to remove the fender right? then once thats out of the way the door can be easily removed?
the three bottom bolts are behind the trim panel near your left foot.
when you install it, choose a good height for it, (i.e. no scrapes but closes smoothly) and use a jack to hold up the far end while you tighten it up. a second pair of hands is nice, but a jack is much steadier.

alright ill get a closer look at it tomorrow. actually im not planning on doing this until later this month or next month, but i want to know how to remove a door just in case I spot a good one at a junkyard. i assume swapping the lock cylinder is pretty easy to do? i have manual locks/windows. if i get a door w/ automatic windows and locks can i swap out the internal stuff and put in the manual stuff?

NJ. im in contact with someone that lives right around the corner from me that has a door for me but hasnt emailed me back. i spotted a few nice ones when i went to the junkyard though, but i'd hate taking a door w/ all the automatic stuff and gutting it. im sure it would be better used by someone else. im sure i can find a door though. i'll keep looking.
