Overhead console

I have a chance to get my hands on an overhead console from a Camaro. I need to know if I need anything special to mount it in my Firebird, and what's involved with installing it. I have a hardtop, the console is also out of a hardtop. Any help would be appreciated

well you need to take out you headliner, measure and cut a hole big enough to be able to slide the console into the screws in you roof. make sure you get the screws that the old camaro had. they should be sticking out of the roof. if not then regular screws w/ washers work fine. i used ones that hold the underneth of our dash pads on. hope this helps

There is the tech article on it. Pretty straight forward project.

Unless you are redoing your headliner it does not have to be removed. Put one in my 88 GTA hardtop last summer. Piece of cake and saved a whole bunch of time. Not to mention taking a chance of damaging a 14 year old headliner by taking it out. I will be happy to give you the info if you want it. Just a thought
