Fairchild TTOP seal defects?

I ordered a set of Fairchild TTOP seals from Rockauto. When they came I inspected them thoroughly and found what looks like a tear in the rain channel on the rear of the drivers side seal. The passenger side does not have this tear.

So I got a return authorization and they said they will issue refund since it doesn't show in stock, which is weird since they have them in stock and I ordered another set already.

The second set came and If I had already sent the first set back, I would swear they sent the same one back. Both sets have almost identical tears. I refuse to believe it is supposed to be there. It would allow water to run down behind the window.

Searching on the forum shows that Fairchild is about the closest to GM seals. I have tried soffseal before and they were quite bulgy.

If I keep a set would they seal properly?
