I'm looking for a replacement for the T-Top A pillar plastic cover weather stripping, which looks to be a flat piece of weather stripping being held on with a double sided type of tape. Research has come up with that there isn't a replacement for this and some people have resorted to finding material and making it work. If you've come up with a solution I'd like to se what you've come up with?
got a photo of what you are discussing? not exactly sure what you are referring to? there is a little foam on the inside of the a-pillar plastic, held by double sided tape if I recall
maybe not seeing this right, but that looks more like the foam that the window rolls up into, not the plastic part??? maybe a photo a bit further out may give a better perspective of what you are referring to? Buttt..... that photo, does look like the double sided tape inside the plastic,
not the same shape as the OEM stuff but does the same function i used this stuff. they pretty much put the to fill the gap and im guessing lessen rattles little.
looks like there are all sort of options over at ebay, maybe even something to duplicate factory. I just don't recall what it is, and not at the car right now. mine was intact, but the double sided tape was old and not really working, so just applied new tape and moved on. I do hear my driver side a-pillar rattling a bit when t-tops off (only time I drive the car is with t-tops off) looks like something like that idea could tighten things up a bit, as long as its not too big and you can get it put together correctly.
No I don’t think those would work because the adhesive is on the entire width of the weather stripping, if the adhesive was only on half of the weather stripping it may work, the half without adhesive needs to slide on the window going up or down.
How does it even contact the window? It goes on the a pillar trim and faces the a-pillar not the window. Also the second link is the wrong one, not sure how that happened, but the adhesive is only half as wide.

Looking at that pic, if you use the double sided tape to adhere that to the A pillar trim. The backside will face outward and the curved side will face the a-pillar.

sticking this side to the top this may work as long as it’s big enough/small enough to fill the space. The surface that this needs to stick too is sort of parallel with the door sills, at an angle of course.
If the tape was by the arrow, it be much better. You could even cut away the section in white.
22mm = .866, the space between the edge of the A pillar cover and the actual A pillar is pretty consistent from top to bottom at approximately an 1”, so where the adhesive is I think/hope it’ll work
This in the middle top and bottom, towards the top it narrows a little under 1”.
If any one is interested I have enough for two more sets of these that are just going to set and collect dust, free but just shoot me $5 for shipping, I take Paypal.
