Outer door handle latch rod

How do you get the rod that goes from the outer door handle to the latch to stay on the latch part. No matter what I try to do I can get it on the door handle itself but it won't stay on the latch part. Am I missing some sort of clip amd if so where do I find one?

Yes, there's a plastic clip. Not sure if it's available on it's own, but even buying the whole door handle assembly, they're not really too expensive.

Soooo with no trouble at all....found this. First hit. PLEASE double check the proper part number as I did NOT. That being said, it LOOKS right.

Re: Outer door handle latch rod

That part goes on the handle, the two little donut shaped one are for the latch itself. Most 3rd gens dont have the donut, but it can be used. I think its mostly to keep rattling away.
Anyway, the rod goes on the latch first, then on the door handle, that clip swings down and clips onto the rod. Nothing technically keeps the rod on the latch. Not stock handle, but the linkage is stock configuration.
