removing power side mirrors
my driver side mirror was damaged by a car backing out about a year ago. i recently acquired a nice set of original replacements. i looked online for videos showing how to remove the side mirrors. every video i found was either passenger side or manual. however not one to be stopped by lack of support i went for it and everything turned out well.
tools needed- 10mm deep socket, extension, swive.
1) remove the door card to access the inside of the door.
2) there is a plug inside the door that needs to be unplugged. its right at the leading edge of the door near the midline. just follow the wires coming out of the mirror. it can be unplugged without tools.
2) remove the two 10mm nuts holding the mirror to the car and slide mirror out. easy peasy.
the passenger side should be identical but i wont know until next week when i get to it.
