82? 83? Cross fire crossfire Injection hood

So I have a mint Fiberglass hood with the functioning air scoops that I believe only came on 82 and 83? Crossfire injection cars. I bought it to put trac spec louvers in like the DSE hood. I knew they were rare but I’m curious as to what they’d be worth and if I’d regret cutting it up. I will get a pic later.

thanks,
Randy

I also have a nice 82-84 front bumper.

82 and 83 only, so quite rare. In 84 they switched to steel hoods with non-functioning flaps and then in 85 the louvers came out.

As for what it's worth? No clue. The solenoid/etc. for the flaps make them unusable on most engines due to clearance issues, not alot of folks bother restoring crossfires except the pace cars.

I would caution against cutting one up just because there aren't that many out there but plain steel hoods are all over the place.

Yeah. I didn’t think many cross fire injections were being rebuilt that’s why I wasn’t sure. I may end up using it in the end if there’s not much desire for one.

I also have a Sunoco jongbloed hood I may use. I think that’s what you call it.

People would pay big money for these... im not sure about now, but they used to fork out some good cash for it.

If you use it, install hood pins. They had a reputation, technical service bulletins, etc about separation of the layers. Specifically the front can come apart, letting the top fold back obscuring the windshield. FWIW
