Cap over trans tunnel to convert to Auto trans

Starting to plan out a conversion from manual trans to auto trans. Anybody know of a cap I can place over the tunnel that will give me the geometry needed for auto shifter and cable pass-thru? I don't want to cut out my stock trans tunnel, prefer to have a cap I can place on top that will give me the features needed to mount auto shifter. I'd like to leave the option of going back to manual if I want.

A simple sheet metal cover to replace the rubber boot that bolts on over the manual stick. You could use the boot as a template for size and shape. If you want to get fancy, you could bead roll it to prevent oil canning.

When I converted my first car ('70 Duster) from column shift to floor shift with console, I cut the whole tunnel out of a floor shift car, trimmed off the excess, and laid the new one over the old one, giving me all the console brackets, floor pass-through for the shifter, shifter brackets, etc. It was easy, and worked well.
