It ended up looking okay. Painting over details bothers me personally. The thing about spray paint is it's soft and doesn't have UV protection on its own, so it's going to get killed by the elements. Assuming it was laid down thick enough to do so, that paint needs to be wet sanded and then covered in a 2k clear (respirator required type paint). Then probably wet sanded again, and buffed using your standard compound -> polish -> glaze -> wax.

will look horrific in a few months. there's nothing durable about rattle can paint. anything that makes contact with it will scratch right through it

it will look terrible in a month...... that and rattle paint is soft and peels easy... if hes planning to scrap it oon itll be fine but if he plans to "do it right" in the future, it will be a nightmare removing that paint.........
