Started the Bodywork
Started the Bodywork
Started the bodywork this weekend. My clearcoat was pealing due to hail damage so I started at with a 180 grit paper on a 6" Dual Action Sander. The front bumper is completely sanded and primed to 180 grit. Next I'll finish the rest of the car in 180 and then step to 400 and repeat. More pix on my website.

I pray that you used a flex agent in your buper primer... If you don't know what I am talking about, you will find out in about a summer or 2. It will crack & spiderweb when you lean on it.

I have a 2 stage 175 PSI air compressor with a 25 gallon tank. It will run a dual action or high speed sander continuously. I can go down to the metal with 80 grit in a matter of seconds. I wouldn't attempt this level of work without at least an air dual action sander. Leave the handjobs to your girlfriend.
