Paint Problem - Fish Eyes Galaore?

Ok, so I screwed something up. I took my radiator core support down to bare metal with paint stripper, wire brush and sanding. I did a water rinse and wipe down on the bare metal with acetone and then applied DP90. I let it cure overnight and it looked fine. I then applied Omni MTK as I understood (probably my error) that I could shoot the Omni right over the DP90 after about a day cure. I immediately got fish eyes all over. I did not wipe down the DP90 with anything. The temperature was about 73 degrees. Does DP90 leave an oil residue on top after shooting it that needs cleaning? The fix? How long do I need to wait to sand the MTK and reshoot? Should I hit it with fill primer and then go to the MTK again?

Thanks...

Re: Paint Problem - Fish Eyes Galaore?

Well, after research it appears that these are not fish eyes but instead are pin holes. I did notice that I had some trouble with my spray gun so that may have been the cause (one of the listed causes on the internet). Bought a new spray gun. Today going to give up and sand the finish coat and try to get a little fill with a hi build primer and then try the finish coat again later this week.

Good luck. I hope you don't have to start over.

Solvent pop? Be best to maybe strip it back to bare metal but considering the part, prime and re-shoot.

Re: Paint Problem - Fish Eyes Galaore?

Well, I sanded it down to reduce the pin holes, re-sprayed with DP90 and then Omni MTK. They are still there but improved quite a bit. Since most of it is not visible I decided not to take it back to bare metal. To get rid of the pin holes completely, I would have had to take it back to bare metal.
