87 Z28 Stripes

Has anyone had any luck removing the stripes without damaging them. Need to get them scanned by a vinyl graphics company.

With a heat gun and patience you may get lucky!

No. Even if it comes of in one piece it will stretch out to twice the size, specially if you heat it. Make sure you measure the existing stripes before you do anything. I am a graphics guy and there are 2 ways I do this. You can get on a ladder and take a straight down pic of the stripes on your hood. This pick can be sized and traced by your graphics company to get the pattern. They only need to trace one as it is mirrored for the other side. The other way is to find a black and white image of the stripes on the net. A high res image is best. I pictured one below. This can be scanned, sized and traced very easily.

Sorry I didn't get into detail. The stripes are the ones around the ground effects. Nobody makes these for 1987. Here's a photo

Re: 87 Z28 Stripes

I did, 85-86 stripe spacing was different. 87 had 4 stripes evenly spaced, a one year only. Crazy.
