Re: Paint advice
Miles on car? If low it is possible, if average or over 40k miles it is a repaint.
Re: Paint advice
For an 85 Z28.... That is probably Light Yellow .. paint code 54...
If it was taken care, could be factory.... But it is an original color .. one I have not seen before.... 5437 cars painted that color...
Not available on the IROC... That would be Yellow... Paint code 50....

Re: Paint advice
I rememebr seeing those colors... very rare in my area though.
hard to tell from the pic but it looks like there is some overspray on the turn signal lens on the bottom.

Re: Paint advice
How smooth is the black/yellow transition paint line in the headlight bucket? The factory line is virtually impossible to feel in my experience. It would seem to be difficult achieve that effect. Maybe with BC/CC, the CC could be very carefully wet sanded without sanding through at the edges.
My 83 was a single stage and I always wondered how they did it.
I think there is a topic on this from a few days/week back.

My guess is it was very thin paint.. .when these cars were newer and plentiful youd see original ones where that paint would start to "fade away" and show the car color under it.
Re: Paint advice
I'll have to look at mine. It still has the original paint. I think the black and blue is holding up fairly well on the nose, (and the rear cover too), compared to the sheet metal. (I'm trying not to get off-topic here).
