Cable vs. Electric Door Mirrors
Cable vs. Electric Door Mirrors
Are the electric left door mirrors more robust than the cable operated ones? My cable operated one was just wobbling around so I took it apart to try to fix it and it's a really cheesy design. I'm afraid if I get another used (since you can't buy new) cable one it isn't going to be much better. I thought I could switch to an electric one: I could just hook up a battery to adjust it, tuck the wires out of the way and then leave it be. I never adjust my left door mirror anyway unless it gets knocked out of position. I'm thinking the electric ones aren't likely to get knocked out of position.
I wish you could get one that adjusts manually, and not manually like GM called manual with the three tiny cables attached to a cheap lever.

Never had a manual one but all the thirdgens I’ve owned had electric and never had an issue. You could just buy an electric one and instead of trying to wire it up just roll your window down and move it by hand, it’s not an issue doing this you will just hear clicking from the pins moving in the motor.

How is the manual pass mirror adjusted, not by cable right? Maybe you could rig one up on the dr.side if you dont want the cable. Ive never had issues my power mirrors though.
