Greetings everyone, I am in the process of removing the original emblem and making progress. I used WD40 to soak down the old hardened foam gasket and will finish the job with Goo- Gone Automotive. My question is after all old material is removed what is the next steps to ensure the new emblem will bond to bumper. The old emblem of course was plastic and it was cracking and needed replaced.
Used Goo Gone Automotive purchased on Amazon. It worked great. Afterward washed the bumper then applied a denatured alcohol wipe and applied emblem. Easy peezy....you just have to apply patience and a light touch to avoid scratching paint. It looks new again.
PS: Did not use heat, didn't want to take the chance.
