Turn signal switch
I messed up my turn signal switch just a couple minutes ago. I tried replacing a spring so the turn signal would cancle when i turned but the sprign was a right spring and I needed a left one. So i tried bending it, I broke it. So i decided to take the turn signal switch off. I get the screws out, take the hazard switch off. So then i try and take the two wires off. And they are some wierd connector so i take the first one off after looking at it for a little bit. I try and take the second one off and i break the freaken thing. Now i don't know how i am going to repair it. I guess i could go back to the junkyard and get that wire and solder it back into place and put the new switch in but i'm not good at soldering. Also i have to like take a lot of the column apart to disconnect the other wires from the switch.

I reread my post and realized I never asked a question, heh. I was really mad then. How much of the column has to be taken apart to get the switch off?
If you are already down that far in the column, it's just about ready to come out. There are three phillips head screws holding it in the column. Also the screw for the hazard button, and the screw that holds the small steel bracket that positions the lever. Once those are out you need to disconnect the wires at the base of the column and pull them up through the column as you remove the switch. The wires are NOT meant to be disconnected at the switch itself. When you buy a new switch it will come with the whole harness that goes back down the column, and plug into the connector down there. It's a bit tedious trying to fish the wires down the column, but not impossible. It's a pretty easy job on our cars, just take your time.....
