do first gen sill plates fit in our cars? how much modding will i have to do?

They are so different, it wouldn't be worth your effort trying to make them fit.

You might look into making a plate to go on top of the gfx, similar to a sill plate. They used to be available, but I haven't seen them for years. But to work, you need to have good pins in your doors so that your door gfx doesn't rub on the bottom one. You could probably either use some thin metal, or a decal. I think the ones they used to make were etched metal.
