I think the people selling them on ebay all the time have a part number listed. Might want to check there.

outside handles
abbreviations
frt - Front
s/d - Side door?
o/s - outside?
w/o - Without.

I found these in the firebird parts manual

82-87 2332644 - RH - handle frt s/d o/s (Bright) (W/o clip)
82-87 2332645 - LH - handle frt s/d o/s (Bright) (W/o clip)

These are the ones you will probably need

82-92 2332646 - RH - handle, Frt s/d o/s (w/o clip) (black)
82-92 2332647 - LH - handle, Frt s/d o/s (w/o clip) (black)

hope that helps

Thanks okfoz. None of those numbers came up at GMPartsDirect, or Vandevere though. Hmm.

they might not make them anymore...

I got them right from the Parts & illustration catalogs, of course there might be a new part number that superceded these. I think they used those handles on just about everything from S-10's to Firebirds...

you might have to go through a salvage yard, usually there decent shape yet... give them a shot of semigloss black and go with it...

Are the doorhandles universal for the gm car line, except for trucks and the vette? Reason I ask is I broke the door handle on my celebrity once, and replaced it with the door handle from my wrecked cavalier. I seem to think that if it is the same side door, it would work from say a cavalier to a camaro.

Might be worth a shot.

NAPA, PepBoys, AutoZone, Advance Auto...etc etc....They can all get the doorhandles. Motormite is the vendor (the HELP line I believe) part #s for the left is 77048 and 77049 for the right. About $20 each.

Hope this helps.
