Headlight Conversion(non Pop-up)
Headlight Conversion(non Pop-up)
Hey, i was wondering if anyone has any ideas about converting to non pop-ups. Ive seen some corvettes do it but i was wondering if its possible for a third gen firebird? Thanks. Jesse
here is a site that i found about 2 years ago with a firebird converted to the non-popup style.
i spoke with him every so often but was never able to purchase a set from him. he stated once that nextgenparts.com was interested in his idea and that they were going to produce them (early Jan. about 2 years ago), but i dont think they ever offered them still.
good luck in you quest, and drop another post if you ever become successfully. g*d knows i tried...

Thanks for that site. Now i was wondering...im pretty good at fabrication, do you think it would be against the law( i live in CA) if i made a set like that??? I could get all the parts i need from a auto parts store(and my friends shop).

I think you will be fine AS LONG AS you use REAL headlights and not foglights. the 93-96 Camaro style headlight for example.
Not for certain, but that might be your best bet...

The only problem i think im going to have is finding the lexan covers. does anyone have any ideas? ive already got the templates im going to use...im goin to lay fiberglass over it, and slip it into place with the camaro headlights and a fog light next to it for highs, but the lexan peice is giving me some trouble finding. Thanks Jesse
