Well mine at least.....my convertible came with no dome light, just underdash ones, it was DARk at night. So I remembed that my brother Lumina had a Rearview with Maplights that also acted as curtesy lights. So i went to the junkyard, $10 just got done installing in tonight.....MUCH BETTA!!! I have an auto day/night rearview if anyone wants that(comes out of the '87, don't know if it works.....the rear window had 5% tint on it. $10 plus shipping.

 

My '89 RS 'Vert has the illuminated rear view mirror in it. It came with the car, although I can't remember weather that was part of the "luxury" package or not when I ordered the car. I'll have to find my original window sticker & order form for the car. I agree, it does greatly help in lighting up the interior at night.
