Need pics of gauges/tach mounted above console....

I am putting in a 5" auto meter monster tach and 3 gauges. I need pics of them mounted (not on top of dash or in A-pillar). Also, what looks better - 2 1/16" gauges or 2 5/8"? I will have 3. Thanks in advance.

Here's a link to a page I put up for people on a local streetracing board I go to. I'm in the process of getting a 6. rollbar so that's why the car looks like it does. Not the best pics for the gauges but it should give you a good idea. The tach is mounted in front of the factory one on a slight angle. I can no longer tilt the wheel more then one or two clicks but I never do that anyway. The key is pretty close to the tach too but I have no problem turning it.

The triple gauges are 2-1/16" in Autometers metal triple panel. They are also in the angle cups so they face me. I mounted the panel back a little so the gauges have a slightly recessed look. With the angle cups you'll have to file/sand away some of the metal gauge pod so they can tilt towards you(if you want it like that) It wasn't hard but I found using a bastard file worked best. The panel is only aluminum and doesn't take much to file away so doing it by hand gave me the right amount of control while not taking too much material away at a time. If you want more pic send me an e-mail and I'll send them to you. Here's the link:

Thanks for the replies guys.

Superman, did you have any problems with the gauges fitting in the dash like that? Did you have to pull the dash out?

I want to have mine mounted like that in the panel, but I also need a place for my tach. I don't want it above the dash. Is there any way to mount it (not above the dash) so that it is viewable and it doesn't interfere with the steering column? Thanks again.

I took my AC and heat out along with the air ducts so I had no problem. I think as long as you are running soft line to your guges, like oil pressure and water temp you can make them work but they will be real close to the air duct. If you have to run any hard line like braided stainless for the N20 or fuel pressure guage its gonna be hard to get them to fit between the air duct. As for the tack I have my ultra lite mounted in the dash.
