to clear or not to clear?

I am redoing all my interior pieces. I started with
soap and water then I used SEM plastic prep
cleaner, then I used Bulldog Adhesion promoter,
then I used the SEM vinyl Paint. It turned out really
nice. Now I was wondering if I should use Clear
on all the parts to prevent scrapes and scratches
etc. Where would I get this and is it necessary to
use this?

Thanks!

I have absolutely no experience with this, but I am planning on the same thing you did. Do you have any pics? I would like to see how the pieces turned out. Sorry I wasn't any help!

i say definitely use clear on it!!

i didnt go through all the steps you did, but when i painted interior pieces before (did about 2 coats of primer too) the stuff would scratch off soo easily. So i had to repaint and cover with a coat of High-gloss.... the stuff looks like it has armor-all on it 24/7

A note of warning.... be careful w/ Satin clear coats, as they can change the overall color..... i painted the speaker grills in my avenger black then put satin on top...when it dried they were light grey!!

...so either go w/ a high gloss or flat clear coat...and do lots of it i say - - more you do, less scratches u get

Bak,

Not saying that didn't happen to you, but I used Krylon satin clear coat over Duplicolor medium gray and it didn't change the color. Maybe it's a black or very dark color paint thing.

The guy that sold me the interior paint at the Paint
Store told me it would be a waste of time and
money to clear the parts. He said if you get a deep
scratch its going to scratch neways.. Everyone
tells me a different thing so I don't know what to
believe.

Any other opinions?

THANKS!

Clear coat it on a section that is easily replaced (or buy a common section) and give it a shot. It all depends on the material and product. I bought the kit from Eastwood and it was terrible, it chipped VERY easily. Just experiment.
