Yep! i think i can help you but its kinda hard to describe. At the very end of the lever, where it goes into the column and gets kinda thin, you have to grab it there and twist it, towards the dash i think, and it should pop out. Again, its hard to describe but by starting at the base of the lever and twisting it around you should be able to figure it out. Dont be rough with it, it doesn't take a whole heck of a lot to get it out. I just installed cruise control in my car and i had to play with the lever for a little bit but it came out. As for the four wires from the lever, that go to your main cruise control harness, you have to get under the dash and disconect those four wires from the main cruise control harness. Those wires are really tiny. They are red, white, blue and green i believe. The wire bundle coming off the lever and down the steering column, should come out of the steering column near the firewall. When it comes time to put the new switch on, i reccomend taping the four cruise control wires to the side of the steering column instead of trying to fish them down inside the steering column. Its a %!$#! to get them down inside that column. Hope i helped!

to reinstall the wires is really easy if you attach a string to the end of your wires when you pull up, then when you go to install your new cruise lever, tie the string to the end of it and pull back through..

Done that several times.

Don't turn it, it just pulls straight out.

Metal hangers are great for feeding wire through hard to get to places.

like Drew said it just pulls straight out... there is a little spring loaded detent ball that hold it in... last time I replaced one it was broken off inside the switch... I popped the plastic cover off the back put a magnet up in there and pushed the metal end through... definately use some mechanics wire or string attached to the wires you pull out (learned that the hard way)...
