The infamous center console lid
Hey all has anyone done anything different with there center console lid? Gone a diff. way rather then spending the 100 some bucks. Anyone got any pics of there new ideas?? I was thinkin about a slab of polished alum.

$100? Ouch. I see GM list price for the console lid (p/n 14035760) is $63.80. Many places sell it for less. Put me down a nope, for "done anything different". I have however done some "custom" modifications to the console storage compartment though. Mine lights up when the lid is lifted. I also have the trunk release for my convertible mounted inside. Lon

Mine had that rubbery stuff that shrinks. Last summer I peeled it off and replaced it with fake leather stuff from the fabric store. Used 3M adhesive to make it stick to the foam underneath and just bolted the plastic piece to the bottom. Looks damn good if you ask me. I also made a new shifter boot out of the same material. I dont have any pics available but I can try to get some.
